Self- Evaluation

 

This is the first time I take any courses about Humanities. To be honest, before this semester, I did not really know what Humanities was and what I could learn from it. Originally, I wanted to apply for management and studied businesses. Then, I found that I had more interesting in Media studies. When I know I had to take ACMA01, I was very confused that why it was a mandatory course in Media studies. After first short essay due, I realized that it helped us improve our skills in writing. And writing is a very important part in work that related to Media. This course talked a lot of different areas in studies. Every weeks, I went to lecture I could know more in various topics. I could learn many things from this course. I found everything in this course is interesting, especially the Arts part. However, in this course, reading is a very big part to consist whole course. English is not first language to me, so it was really a big challenge for me to understand everything mentioned in readings. But one thing I really enjoy is that I can learn many skills of how to write academically and how to cite sources in MLA 7 form. I learnt an important lesson from this course is that I have to manage my time because this course has three assignments due. I always did them quickly in last minutes. I need to change my habit in next year. I have to thank this course because it helps me develop a lot. I can correct my errors form writing and it encourages me to make everything better. I have to admit that my English skills have a big room to improve and I have to keep working hard in following years in university. Finally, I really want to emphasize it was an opportunity to make me know my shortness. I have a long way to reach the top level of writing, but I will work hard to make it come true. I never regret I take this course.
